Community Manager (Startups)

The purpose of the Community Manager role is to actively build, manage and grow the programs community by defining key segments and engaging with the Sheraa alumni, startups, founders, mentors and prospective service providers. In addition, the Community Manager will design, manage and execute different initiatives that will contribute to the growth and increased engagement of the community. The Community Manager will be responsible for the community data management and community benefits that can grow into a membership program. The Community Manager will work on scouting efforts for programs and participate in program cohort management if/when necessary.

Candidate Requirements

  1. Education
    1. Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited university.
    2. Desirable: A masters or coursework in a related field in entrepreneurship.
  2. Knowledge
    1. Essential: knowledge of business development, relationship management, entrepreneurship, project management, and the start-up ecosystem.
    2. Desirable: First-hand founder experience.
  3. Experience
    1. Essential: 4 to 7 years of experience in working in a start-up accelerator/ incubator, community management, business development, and/ or a start-up advisory role.

Role Responsibilities

Programs Alumni

  • Networking, providing access to mentorship and introductions through the programs team or external mentors to Start-ups.
  • Creating an Alumni engagement calendar with regular meetings, alumni events… to maintain regular updates of the Sheraa portfolio.
  • Collecting findings and creating reports based on engagements with Alumni and Alumni events, and suggesting solutions and gaps for new opportunities, accordingly.
  • Supporting the quarterly department reports (MIS) by providing the relevant.

Sheraa Networks of Start-ups (Program participants + Non- Participants)

  • Community engagement by meeting, recruiting, managing, and growing the Sheraa wider network of startups and prospective founders.
  • Creating an onboarding and activation process for engaging relevant stakeholders, which includes startups, mentors, service providers and investors.
  • Ensuring the availability of access to network benefits, managing, and refining benefits for start- ups.
  • Source potential mentors and service providers that can potentially add value to the network of start- ups.
  • Create a framework for rating mentors and service providers, as well as a database.
  • Propose, design and execute community educational events such as webinars, workshops… etc. with post-events reports, learning, and next steps.
  • Coordinate with Marketing on providing community related content and updates for promotions.
  • Actively grow the network by engaging in different activities within the ecosystem to scout and increase the deal flow to the network.
  • Collect data and support the quarterly departmental reports (MIS) by providing the relevant information.
