SEF and Events Manager (UAE National)

The purpose of the SEF (Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival) & Events Manager is to manage the SEF & Events units operations, organize and strategize internal and external events aimed at broadening Sheraa’s reach, and building a community of speakers and inspirers for SEF. The SEF and Events Manager needs to have a marketing experience in all facets of not only event planning and management, but, also, understanding guest experience, relevant content development, and an overall branding and marketing for large scale events.

He/ she must have a good understanding of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and/or a good knowledge of the Sharjah market and culture. He/she needs to be comfortable speaking to media in Arabic to represent the company, as the official Sheraa Arabic spokesperson. He/she will be responsible for the events’ strategies, planning, and managing multiple teams to pull an event together.

Candidate Requirements

1. Education

  1. Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Events from an accredited university.
  2. Desirable: MBA/ Masters in a related field.

2. Experience

  1. Essential: 5-8 of experience in event management/planning, or marketing manager in service-oriented industry.
  2. Desirable: a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field in the ecosystem.

Role Responsibilities

  • Leading discussions with potential partners and sponsors for SEF and other Sheraa events.
  • Creating and presenting SEF and events proposals to partners and top management team.
  • Reviewing vendor proposals, partnership decks and sponsorships decks.
  • Creating the event program with the Marketing manager, which includes: program, content, speakers, mentors… etc.
  • Community building, management, and engagement for Sheraa events, and especially for SEF. He/she will need to be well connected and understand the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
  • Liaising with MARCOMS and branding for events promotions.
    Reviewing procurement requests and RFPs, and suggesting vendors.
  • Researching and approaching potential partners and sponsors for SEF and other Sheraa events.
  • Creating different sponsorship schemes, networking, liaising with different sponsors, and meeting sponsorship targets for SEF.
  • Project managing SEF and Sheraa events throughout the year, as well as proposing new events and experiences based on feedback from events and gaps in the market.
  • Carving out and defining our different types of target audiences and their respective events type.
  • Creating a reporting scheme to measure events success, reviewing progress reports, and monthly reporting on events outcome to head of department.
  • Curating and reviewing SEF & Events agendas, including connecting and bringing on board relevant speakers and workshop facilitators.
  • Creating a database for mentors, speakers, which includes feedback, which can be used for different events.
  • Creating a process for events planning, taking into consideration deadline for inputs, reviews, and changes.
  • Ensuring that the events team are on track and on plan, as well as coordinating with external departments for event requirements.
  • Team management, and ensuring the growth and skills development of the SEF and Events Senior Associate and team.
